I will never make Gill get shots on his birthday again...he won't remember -- I hope. He cried from the moment they took his clothes off to get weighed till about 15 seconds after his shots. Then he acted like nothing ever happened!? He's also teething again - finally. We thought he was only going to have his 2 bottom teeth for the rest of his life. Now he's getting his 2 front teeth. The doctor asked us if we were giving Gill whole milk. Trey & I looked at each other and lied, "Yes, we are." Trey does the grocery shopping & didn't know to buy whole milk instead of 2%! Oh well, he's still alive and we practiced our lying to the doctor.

First Trip to the Lake
Gill was so excited about his first boat ride that he fell asleep! I'm pretty sure Trey said this was the single best moment of his life. These times when Gill falls asleep in our arms are so rare since he is in constant motion. He isn't walking, but is really fast! He turns one year in a month and we are amazed at how quickly it went. We are soaking it all in....even the times when he arches his back and screams -- it's lovely!

Where did the summer go?
I've had the month of July off, but go back to work August 3rd - oh sad day! We have had a lot of fun. Our new house is near a park with swings. He's not sure what to think, but loves the wind blowing in his hair (which seems pretty red at times!) His eyes are still blue and are not showing any signs of changing. He's HUGE and loves every food that I have given him....avocados, cheese, all veggies, and even tofu (Trey thinks it's ridiculous that I give him that!) He has gotten really fast at crawling and is very mischievous -- but then gives you that killer smile and you forget that he's doing something off limits like playing with the remote or your shoes.
The video was after our morning at the park, which I thought would wear him out. He LOVES the camera & won't ever let me film him playing because he wants to see himself in the playback. Like father like son. I've loved all of his stages, but this one is truly special. He's babbling like crazy and I think he's going to walk any day now.
We are going to LA for Andrew's wedding this week. It will be our longest time away from Gill, but much needed for us! It has been amazing watching Trey become a father. He's much better than he realizes and I am so lucky he's my partner in this. It really does take two people to keep up with this little devil!
